Before I joined LiA’s Employment Heroes program, I was finding the job search quite hard. I was applying for jobs and internships, but I rarely heard back from my applications, so I wasn’t really sure if I was doing things the right way or how I could actually stand out. It was honestly quite frustrating and made me question whether I was presenting myself well enough.
Through the program, I’ve learnt so much, not just about job searching, but also about what it’s actually like to work in Australia, how to communicate professionally and what employers are looking for. Getting that real exposure to the Australian work environment has been really valuable for me as an international student. What is Content Crew?
Content Crew is the first step in the Digital Storytellers pathway. It’s designed for international students who want to share their story, meet the community and build confidence before exploring future content creation opportunities.
What happens at Content Crew?
1. Meet and warm up
Get to know other international students through relaxed conversation and simple activities.
2. Share your story
Talk about your experiences through guided prompts in pairs or small groups.
3. Try being on camera
Share a short story on camera if you feel comfortable. There’s no script and no pressure.
4. Connect and keep creating
Meet new people, follow the LiA community and discover future opportunities to get involved.
Do I have to be on camera?
No. Being on camera is optional. You can participate at your own comfort level, and we’ll always ask for your consent before filming.
Do I need perfect English?
No. You only need to be willing to communicate and share your ideas. Content Crew is also a space to practise expressing yourself in English.
Are jobs or internships guaranteed?
We can’t guarantee a job, internship or employment outcome. What we can do is give you the tools, guidance and support to help you put your best foot forward.
How much does the program cost?
Nothing! Content Crew is free for eligible international students.
